Washington District 1 Challenger Division
Challenger Baseball is a division of Little
League set up in 1989 allowing kids with physical or mental restrictions the
opportunity to play organized baseball.
District 1 Little League has been involved with, and has supported the
Challenger Program from the start and established the first challenger team in
Mukilteo. In 2004 it was decided to expand the program and with each new year
brought new teams. We currently have nine teams and now have the largest
Challenger Division in the State of Washington, and are amongst the stronger
Challenger Programs across the nation.
The Challenger teams practice and play games from late March thru June against
other teams from District 1 and District 8(Woodinville). The season ends with
all of the teams coming together for a "Jamboree" of games, food and awards.
The following are the Challenger Baseball teams in District 1:
Alderwood Admirals
Lake Stevens Vikings
Marysville Mavericks
Marysville Mustangs
Mukilteo Air Force
North Everett Grizzlies
Pacific Pirates
Snohomish Panthers
South Everett
Eagles
